Tactonic _Prospective Interactions Research

At the Havas LAB I took as a role not only to lead and research novel interactions but also to proactively look for and create partnerships with developers and inventors of new sensing technologies. This allowed the Agency to access new technologies in early stages of development or adoption and allowing the Lab to access, brainstorm and prototypes novel interactions and experiences using such technologies.
Tactonic pressure sensing tiles was one of theses partners: I had access to their hardware and SDK and proposed to develop a series of prospective interactions using their sensors.

here’s a quick video description of its capabilities:

As an initial take on the surface sensing capabilities (touch, pressure) and wanting to push for an expressive and playful experience I designed a virtual drum set featuring a strong gestural interaction component and subtle but very reactive graphics to accompany the sounds.
